Since 1981 the Rotary club has sponsored scholarships for West Springfield High School seniors. To date the club has awarded over $160,000 to over 80 students. The primary selection criterion is a students meaningful activity in the community. As a service organization, the West Springfield Rotary Club is interested in identifying and encouraging the development of future community leaders. The Rotary committee also looks at the students leadership in extra-curricular activities.
